Subluxation of jaw and its management in dental-clinic
Once while having great rush of patients I received a hospitalized patient from female ward, with Subluxation of jaw, whose TM joint slipped off during yawning and she was not able to close her mouth then after. Without studying her case I started relief treatment with the famous Finger Trick of Dr. Chopara. My hands were wet, without drying I placed two fingers on the lower jaw posterior teeth to push the jaw down to relieve slipped off head of mandible and thumbs on the chin. The patient was suffering from Tetanus, she had Hydrophobia. Seeing water dropping from my hands she suddenly went under Severe Muscular Spasm of Mezetore muscles, her sharpened teeth edges crushed my index and long fingers placed on lower jaw. I cried very loudly – uncontrollably. Hearing sudden loud cry every one dropped their work and rushed to my department. Dr. Chopara was teaching dental students on an interesting case, he had dental mirror in his hand, he immediately pushed his mirror between closing two jaws which still had some space. This saved my fingers from cutting off but the tremendous spasmodic action of both messetores on each side of face exerted almost 800 pound pressure on my fingers left long time injury and pain. This experience helped me in creating habit of thorough checking of the case history of referred patients.

Management of anaphylactic shock
The other experience of treating Anaphylactic shock during IV induction of long acting Penicillin drug. My class met Dr. Girish Rami had already taken two large dosages on a weekly interval. He knew that I mastered my IM & IV therapy during my 1965 Regular Army Attachment Camp during 1965 Indo- Pak war. In 303 – Medical Battalion on Kashmir border treating indoor and out-door patients I had great experience dealing with various injuries and food poisoning cases. He requested me to induce drug, because the nurse and doctor who were giving this therapy were absent. While inducing drug he went unconscious due to anaphylactic shock... His eyes dilated and eyelids widely open pulse rate reduced and convulsion started with apnoea. Dr. Rajubhai and other oral surgery nurses & staff rushed to bring life saving drugs. I learnt management of anaphylactic shock, which is very much useful in my routine practice.
